Leisure Centre Duty Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Leisure Centre Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of their modern facility in Milton Keynes . This hands-on role involves ensuring a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience for all visitors, managing staff, and responding to operational needs as they arise. You will play a pivotal role in customer satisfaction, staff performance, and the efficient running of all centre activities, contributing significantly to the community's health and well-being in Buckinghamshire . The successful candidate will be proactive and capable of handling diverse responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations, ensuring all areas of the leisure centre are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
• Manage and motivate a team of front-line staff, including receptionists, fitness instructors, and lifeguards, providing guidance and support.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback effectively, aiming for first-contact resolution and positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations, conducting regular checks and audits.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and till reconciliation as required.
• Support the delivery of a diverse range of fitness classes, sports activities, and community events held at the centre.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the leisure or hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to public facilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to manage staff effectively and foster a positive team environment.
• Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence in Milton Keynes .
• Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, Pool Plant Operations) are a plus.
