Leisure Centre Duty Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Leisure Centre Duty Manager to oversee the operational management of a busy leisure facility in Manchester . In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the centre on a day-to-day basis, including staff supervision, customer service, health and safety, and facility maintenance. You will be the first point of contact for any issues that arise during your shift, requiring excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of centre staff, ensuring high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
• Manage the opening and closing procedures, ensuring all facilities are safe and accessible.
• Respond effectively to customer enquiries, complaints, and operational incidents.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Oversee the scheduling of staff and resources to meet operational demands.
• Assist with the promotion of centre activities and programmes to maximise usage and revenue.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within the leisure or hospitality sector.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures in a public facility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• First Aid at Work certification is essential.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
