Leisure Centre Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Leisure Centre Manager to lead operations at their flagship facility in Sunderland . This role is critical for ensuring the delivery of high-quality recreational services, maintaining facility standards, and driving membership growth and customer satisfaction. You will manage all operational aspects, including staffing, programming, budget control, and health and safety compliance. This is a key leadership position for an individual passionate about community recreation and operational excellence in the leisure sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all users.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance, fostering a positive and productive team culture.
• Develop and implement diverse leisure programs and activities to meet community needs and drive participation.
• Manage the centre's budget, control expenditures, and work towards achieving revenue targets.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations, conducting regular risk assessments and audits.
• Liaise with local authorities, community groups, and stakeholders to promote the centre and its services.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in leisure centre management or a senior role within the leisure industry.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue growth.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to leisure facilities.
• Experience in staff management and development.
