About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Leisure Centre Manager to lead operations at their facility in Sunderland . This crucial role involves overseeing all aspects of the centre, from staff management and customer service to financial performance and facility maintenance, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all members and visitors. You will be responsible for driving membership growth, enhancing program offerings, and maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership acumen, a passion for community engagement, and a proven track record in facility management within the leisure industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the leisure centre, ensuring smooth service delivery across all departments.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of staff, including front-of-house, fitness instructors, and facility attendants.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase membership numbers and retention rates.
- Oversee the scheduling and delivery of fitness classes, sports activities, and community programs.
- Ensure the facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and repair.
- Manage budgets, control expenditure, and work towards achieving financial targets.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing a leisure centre or similar facility.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a leisure environment.
- Experience with membership management software and operational planning.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service excellence.
- Relevant qualifications in Leisure Management, Business, or a related field are preferred.
