About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Leisure Centre Manager to take charge of their vibrant community leisure facility in Sunderland . This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of the centre's operations, including fitness, sports, swimming, and community programs, to ensure a high-quality experience for all users. You will be responsible for managing staff, optimising facility usage, enhancing membership numbers, and ensuring the centre operates safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of the leisure centre, ensuring high standards of service delivery and user satisfaction.
• Lead, develop, and motivate a diverse team of centre staff, including instructors, receptionists, and maintenance personnel.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to increase membership, participation, and revenue.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations within the facility.
• Manage budgets effectively, controlling expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Promote the centre's facilities and activities through marketing initiatives and community engagement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leisure centre management or a similar operational leadership role within the sports and leisure industry.
• Strong understanding of leisure facility operations, programming, and staff management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and drive revenue growth.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to upholding health and safety standards.
• Relevant qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Management, or Business Administration is desirable.
