Supply Desk is pleased to be working with a friendly and inclusive school in the Uxbridge area to recruit a committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant . This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in a nurturing environment and contribute to their academic and personal development.
This role is ideal for individuals with a Level 2 qualification and some experience working with children, either in schools, care, or support settings.
The Role
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the classroom, including those with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, and SEMH . You will work closely with the class teacher to ensure pupils feel supported, engaged, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
- Assist the teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Promote pupils social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
- Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN support teams
Requirements
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working with children (school, nursery, or care setting)
- A genuine passion for supporting young learners
- Patient, positive, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Previous school-based experience
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management
