Full-time | September 2026 start - October half-term £92.56 - £110.00 per day depending on experience

Premier Education is recruiting for an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tameside from September 2026 until October half-term. This is a full-time, classroom-based role supporting pupils in Key Stage 2.

This is not a 1:1 support position. Instead, you will work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning across the whole classroom, while delivering targeted interventions to pupils working below age-related expectations.

The role

Provide high-quality classroom support within a KS2 class. Deliver targeted interventions and support small groups of pupils. Use Read, Write, Inc. (RWI) to support KS2 pupils who are working below expected attainment in reading and phonics. Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom organisation. Promote positive behaviour and contribute to an inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to ensure positive outcomes for all pupils.

The ideal candidate

To be considered for this role, applicants should:

Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience). Have recent experience working within a KS2 classroom. Have strong knowledge and practical experience of Read, Write, Inc. (RWI), with the confidence to support KS2 pupils working below age-related expectations in reading and phonics. Have experience supporting whole-class teaching and learning rather than solely working in a 1:1 capacity. Demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. Be proactive, adaptable and able to work as part of a team. Have excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
