About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Livestock Farm Manager to take charge of their operations in Stoke-on-Trent . This senior role demands a comprehensive understanding of animal husbandry, herd management, and farm business administration. You will be responsible for the health, welfare, and productivity of the livestock, as well as managing staff, implementing efficient feeding programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of livestock management, including breeding, feeding, health, and welfare programs for cattle/sheep/poultry (specify as appropriate).
- Develop and implement effective feeding strategies to optimise animal health and productivity.
- Manage the farm's budget, including cost control for feed, veterinary services, and labour.
- Lead and supervise a team of farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain detailed records of livestock performance, health, and financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural, environmental, and animal welfare regulations.
Requirements
- Significant experience in livestock farming, with a proven track record in management.
- Strong knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and breeding practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience with financial management and farm business planning.
- Degree or relevant qualification in Agriculture or Animal Science is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the agricultural landscape of the Stoke-on-Trent region.
