Livestock Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and compassionate Livestock Technician to join their established farming operation in Bradford . This role is fundamental to ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of the farm's animals. You will be responsible for daily care routines, monitoring animal health, and assisting with breeding and veterinary procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily feeding, watering, and cleaning of livestock enclosures to maintain hygiene and welfare standards.
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress, reporting any concerns promptly to the farm veterinarian or manager.
• Assist with veterinary treatments, vaccinations, and artificial insemination procedures as directed.
• Maintain accurate records of animal health, breeding, feed consumption, and daily activities.
• Operate and maintain equipment used for livestock management, including feeding systems and milking machines where applicable.
• Implement biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of disease within the herd or flock.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with farm animals or in a veterinary care setting.
• Knowledge of animal husbandry, health, and welfare principles.
• Ability to handle livestock safely and effectively.
• Basic understanding of animal nutrition and disease prevention.
• Good observational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as needed.
