Local Delivery Driver (7.5T)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dependable Local Delivery Driver to operate a 7.5 Tonne vehicle based in Derby . This role is focused on delivering goods to customers within the local and surrounding areas, ensuring efficient service and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for the complete delivery process, from vehicle checks to final drop-off, requiring good organisational skills and a thorough knowledge of local routes. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for customers, representing the company professionally on every delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute timely and safe deliveries of goods to customer addresses within the Derby region.
• Operate a 7.5 Tonne truck in compliance with all traffic regulations and company procedures.
• Perform pre-shift vehicle inspections and report any issues to the transport manager.
• Load and unload the vehicle efficiently, ensuring the security and condition of the goods.
• Obtain necessary proof of delivery and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Provide polite and helpful customer service during all delivery interactions.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence with Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) entitlement .
• Current Driver CPC qualification and valid Digi-card.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 7.5 Tonne vehicles.
• Strong geographical knowledge of Derby and the surrounding areas.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including loading and unloading.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional demeanour.
