About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Local Delivery Driver to join their team in Portsmouth . This role involves the daily delivery of goods to local businesses and residences, ensuring a high level of service and timely completion of routes. You will be the face of the company for many customers, requiring professionalism and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the local area and a commitment to safe driving practices, playing an essential part in our client's distribution network within Hampshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Perform timely and safe deliveries of goods to designated customer locations within the Portsmouth area.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring goods are handled with care and secured properly.
• Accurately record delivery details, obtain customer signatures, and manage any returns.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the delivery vehicle, reporting any issues promptly.
• Provide excellent customer service, acting as a professional representative of the company.
• Follow all company policies and road safety regulations at all times.

Requirements

• Valid UK driving license, suitable for driving delivery vans.
• Previous experience in a delivery driver role is advantageous.
• Good knowledge of the Portsmouth and surrounding Hampshire road network.
• Ability to lift and carry items of moderate weight.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
