Logistics and Distribution Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Logistics and Distribution Manager to lead their operations in Cambridge . This senior role is responsible for the overall management of the company's logistics and distribution network, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods from production to end customers. You will develop and implement logistics strategies, manage warehouse operations, optimize transportation routes, and lead a dedicated team to achieve exceptional service levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive logistics and distribution strategies to meet business objectives.
• Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and dispatch.
• Manage and optimize transportation networks, carrier relationships, and freight costs.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and distribution team to ensure high performance.
• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and transportation regulations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in logistics and distribution management , with a proven track record of success.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and complex supply chain operations.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and service providers.
