About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics & Transport Planner to join their team in Reading . This role is instrumental in optimizing the movement of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries across the region and beyond. You will be responsible for creating efficient delivery schedules, managing driver assignments, and resolving any logistical challenges that arise. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of transport operations, contributing to the smooth functioning of our client's supply chain in the bustling county of Berkshire . This hybrid role offers a balance between office-based planning and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily deliveries and collections for a fleet of vehicles.
• Optimize delivery routes using specialized software to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize mileage.
• Allocate drivers to specific routes and vehicles, ensuring compliance with working hours.
• Monitor live tracking of vehicles and communicate any deviations or issues to relevant parties.
• Liaise with warehouse teams, drivers, and customers to ensure smooth operation and resolve queries.
• Maintain accurate records of all transport activities and prepare performance reports.

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics planning or transport coordination.
• Proficiency in using transport planning software (e.g., Mandata, Paragon) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of UK road networks and delivery logistics.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with the Reading area and wider Thames Valley region is beneficial.
