Logistics Coordinator - Fleet Management

About the Role

Our client requires a proactive Logistics Coordinator to manage fleet operations and optimise delivery schedules from their Newcastle upon Tyne hub. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, coordinating with drivers, managing dispatch, and maintaining communication with clients. This position demands strong organizational skills and a keen understanding of the logistics and transport industry to support efficient supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily deliveries, ensuring optimal route planning for drivers.
• Monitor fleet performance and driver activities, providing support and resolving issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance.
• Liaise with customers to confirm delivery details and address any queries or concerns.
• Implement and enforce company policies related to safety, security, and operational efficiency.
• Assist in managing inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse staff for efficient dispatch.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics , dispatch, or transport coordination role.
• Familiarity with route planning software and fleet management systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and client interaction.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of the Newcastle upon Tyne region is advantageous.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including spreadsheets and email.
