About the Role
Our client seeks a dynamic Logistics Coordinator to join their bustling operations team in Coventry . This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their extensive fleet, coordinating daily dispatches, managing driver schedules, and maintaining vehicle logs. You will be the central point of contact for drivers, clients, and internal departments, ensuring timely deliveries and effective problem resolution. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute to a vital aspect of the supply chain while maintaining a good work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities, ensuring efficient allocation of vehicles and drivers to delivery routes.
- Monitor vehicle movements and driver progress using real-time tracking systems.
- Manage and update driver schedules, including assignments, breaks, and rest periods.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and mileage.
- Communicate effectively with drivers to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure adherence to schedules.
- Liaise with sales, warehouse, and customer service teams to resolve logistical challenges.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a logistics , dispatch, or transport coordination role.
- Familiarity with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with drivers and internal staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
