About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team in Birmingham . This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods through our supply chain. You will be responsible for coordinating transportation, managing shipping documentation, and liaising with carriers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any logistical challenges. This hybrid position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, perfect for an individual looking to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of domestic and international shipments, including booking carriers, tracking shipments, and managing delivery schedules.
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues, communicating updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistical activities and prepare regular reports on shipping volumes, costs, and performance metrics.
- Resolve customer inquiries and issues related to shipping and delivery in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar logistics support role.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and international trade regulations.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems for shipment tracking and documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work model.
