Logistics Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team in Birmingham . You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and liaising with carriers and suppliers. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment. You will be a key point of contact for logistical queries, contributing to the seamless operation of the supply chain and supporting the wider operational goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and warehouse personnel to resolve any logistical issues.
• Manage and maintain records of all logistical activities and transactions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the logistics function.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics or supply chain coordination role.
• Proficiency with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with external partners.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Understanding of shipping regulations and documentation is advantageous.
