About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their busy team in Birmingham . You will play a vital role in coordinating the smooth and efficient movement of goods, managing shipments, and liaising with carriers, suppliers, and customers. This position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. You will be a key point of contact for operational logistics, contributing to the seamless flow of our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to schedules.
- Manage communication with carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to arrange transportation and resolve issues.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient stock management and order fulfillment.
- Address and resolve any logistical problems or delays that may arise, providing proactive solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities within the company's logistics management system.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a logistics, supply chain, or transportation coordination role.
- Strong understanding of shipping processes, documentation, and international trade regulations (if applicable).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
