Logistics Dispatcher

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and efficient Logistics Dispatcher to join their team in Norwich . This critical role involves coordinating and scheduling the movement of goods, managing delivery routes, and communicating with drivers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. You will be the central point of contact for all dispatch activities, playing a key role in the smooth operation of the logistics function. This on-site position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Monitor the progress of deliveries and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery times, and driver logs.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, providing route information, instructions, and support.
• Liaise with warehouse staff and customer service to ensure efficient coordination of logistics.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and delivery information.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics dispatch or similar coordinating role.
• Strong understanding of delivery routes and transportation logistics.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.
• Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and schedules.
