About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and efficient Logistics Dispatcher to join their team in Cambridge . This role is central to coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and managing the daily schedules of drivers and transport operations. You will be the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel, ensuring seamless communication and problem resolution. This position is ideal for someone who excels in fast-paced environments and possesses strong communication and coordination skills within the logistics sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles for deliveries and collections efficiently.
• Monitor driver progress and communicate any changes or delays to relevant parties.
• Assign tasks and provide clear instructions to drivers, ensuring adherence to routes and schedules.
• Maintain accurate logs of dispatch activities, vehicle movements, and delivery confirmations.
• Act as the primary liaison between drivers, customers, and warehouse operations.
• Respond to and resolve any operational issues or customer inquiries related to deliveries.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics coordination role.
• Familiarity with dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure.
• Basic understanding of transportation regulations and procedures.
