About the Role

Our client is looking for a strategic and analytical Logistics Operations Planner to join their team, working remotely to support their operations based in Reading . This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing comprehensive logistics plans to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will analyze demand, forecast needs, and design supply chain strategies that align with business objectives, working closely with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of logistics networks, advanced planning techniques, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence from a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed logistics and transportation plans, considering all aspects of the supply chain.
• Analyze historical data and forecast future demand to optimize inventory levels and transportation requirements.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the logistics network.
• Collaborate with carriers and logistics providers to negotiate rates and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Design and implement network optimization strategies to enhance overall supply chain performance.
• Utilize advanced planning systems and software to manage and execute logistics plans effectively.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Logistics Planning , supply chain management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with logistics planning software, transportation management systems (TMS), and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in forecasting and network modeling.
• Excellent understanding of global logistics operations, including transportation modes and customs regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
