About the Role

Our client is seeking an organised and efficient Logistics Operations Supervisor to join their team in Reading . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth running of daily logistics operations, from inbound shipments to outbound deliveries. You will supervise a team of logistics operatives, coordinate schedules, and maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. The hybrid working model allows for a balanced approach, combining essential on-site supervision with the flexibility of remote management tasks, ensuring operational continuity and team support across the logistics function.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the logistics team, including receiving, warehousing, and dispatch.
• Ensure accurate processing of orders, shipments, and inventory records using the company's logistics software .
• Implement and enforce operational procedures and safety standards within the warehouse and dispatch areas.
• Manage team schedules, assign tasks, and provide guidance and training to logistics staff.
• Monitor operational performance, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions for improvement.
• Liaise with transport providers and other departments to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse supervisory role.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a demanding operational environment.
• Good communication skills for coordinating with staff, drivers, and management.
