Logistics Operative - Warehouse & Distribution

About the Role

Our client is looking for a diligent and physically fit Logistics Operative to join their busy warehouse and distribution centre in Southampton . This role is essential for the smooth operation of the supply chain, involving the accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of goods. You will work as part of a team to ensure inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized working environment within the fast-paced logistics hub of Southampton , contributing to the company's reputation for efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and accurately store incoming inventory.
• Pick and pack orders according to customer specifications and company standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
• Ensure all dispatched goods are correctly labelled and loaded onto delivery vehicles.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
• Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking processes as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics operative role is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving stock.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a busy setting.
• Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
