About us
UCL is a world-leading university with a large and diverse Estate spanning more than 270 buildings. Our Logistics team provides essential goods receiving, storage and distribution services across UCL, helping departments operate safely and efficiently across our busy Bloomsbury campus.
About the role
The UCL Logistics & Mail Team manage all vehicle movements onto the Bloomsbury Campus. The team manage a vehicle booking in system to control vehicle access at all entry points. The Traffic Marshal team are responsible for marshalling all vehicles to uphold the Traffic Management Plan and to ensure pedestrian and other road users’ safety.
As a Logistics Operative, you will deliver and move stock, consumables, stationery and courier items across campus, maintain accurate delivery records and support basic stock control. You will also marshal vehicles and help manage safe traffic movement, operate fleet vehicles including cargo bikes and electric vans, and undertake daily vehicle checks.
About you
We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious individual with practical experience of safe working practices. You will be confident communicating clearly and politely with a wide range of people, able to work independently and as part of a team, and physically able to move heavy and bulky stock and work outdoors for extended periods when required.
