About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Planner to join their operations team in a fully remote capacity. This role is central to ensuring the efficient movement of goods by planning and scheduling transportation routes and loads. You will work closely with carriers, warehouse teams, and customers to optimise logistics operations, minimise transit times, and control costs. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong planning skills and a good understanding of the logistics landscape to contribute to a seamless supply chain from anywhere in the UK .
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily transportation activities, including route optimisation and load consolidation.
- Coordinate with transport providers to book carrier services and ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.
- Manage shipping documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, such as sales and warehouse operations, to meet customer requirements.
- Utilise logistics planning software and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Experience in logistics planning , dispatch, or a similar transportation coordination role.
- Good understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and related software.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
