Logistics Planner (Remote)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and forward-thinking Logistics Planner to join their team, working entirely remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and optimizing the transportation of goods, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to delivery schedules. You will analyze transportation needs, select appropriate carriers, and manage the coordination of shipments across various modes. This is a key position that requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex logistical challenges from anywhere within the UK, contributing to a streamlined and successful supply chain operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily, weekly, and monthly transportation routes and loads.
• Optimize routing and carrier selection to minimize costs and delivery times.
• Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and customers to ensure smooth execution of logistics plans.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and update the logistics management system.
• Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency gains.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, carrier operations, and routing strategies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote capacity.
