About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Logistics Planner to join their dynamic team in Southampton . This hybrid role involves optimizing the movement of goods, planning transportation routes, and ensuring timely deliveries across our network. You will play a key role in forecasting demand, managing carrier relationships, and resolving any logistical challenges that arise. Your expertise will be vital in enhancing the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our supply chain operations, contributing to client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly transportation plans.
• Optimize delivery routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times and costs.
• Coordinate with internal departments (sales, operations) and external carriers to ensure seamless execution of logistics plans.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures.
• Maintain accurate records of planned shipments, carrier performance, and associated costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning , transportation management, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and transportation modes.
• Proficiency in using planning software, TMS (Transportation Management Systems), or advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with carriers and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing tasks both remotely and in the office.
