Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and analytical Logistics Planner to join their fully remote team. This role is essential in designing and optimising transportation routes and schedules to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across the UK and beyond. You will work closely with various departments to forecast demand, manage carrier relationships, and implement strategic logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement optimised transportation plans and schedules for domestic and international shipments.
• Analyse transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve delivery times.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and negotiate favourable rates.
• Collaborate with warehouse operations, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics plans.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively address any delays or issues that may arise.
• Utilise logistics planning software and tools to forecast demand and manage capacity effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner or in a similar transportation planning role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent understanding of transportation modes, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, suitable for managing carrier relationships remotely.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
