Logistics Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Logistics Planner to join their supply chain team based in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of transportation and delivery operations. You will be responsible for optimizing routes, managing carrier performance, and coordinating with various stakeholders to guarantee timely and cost-effective movement of goods. This hybrid position allows for a blend of strategic planning from home and on-site collaboration within our Leeds operations hub, contributing to the backbone of our logistics network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize daily/weekly transportation schedules for domestic and international shipments.
• Select appropriate carriers based on cost, performance, and service requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing any delays or issues.
• Negotiate freight rates and service level agreements (SLAs) with transportation partners.
• Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure all shipments comply with relevant regulations and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner, Dispatcher, or in a related transportation role.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, logistics operations, and supply chain principles.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and MS Office Suite , particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities for effective stakeholder management.
