About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Logistics Planner to join their team in Reading . This role is pivotal in optimizing transportation networks, managing supply chain efficiency, and ensuring the cost-effective movement of goods. You will be responsible for developing detailed logistics plans, forecasting demand, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative aptitude and a deep understanding of logistics principles to drive operational excellence in the Berkshire area.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive logistics and transportation plans.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Forecast transportation needs and manage carrier relationships to secure optimal service and rates.
• Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor shipment performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Logistics Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation modes, and supply chain management.
• Proficiency in logistics software, planning tools, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience working within the Reading area or with relevant logistics networks is a plus.
