About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Planner to join their team in Portsmouth . In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for planning and optimizing the transportation of goods, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling, and resource allocation. Your expertise will be vital in managing carrier relationships, tracking shipments, and resolving any logistical challenges to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule transportation routes and loads for efficient delivery.
• Select appropriate carriers and negotiate freight rates and service level agreements.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
• Analyze transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Manage and maintain relationships with external logistics partners.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of transportation modes, routing software, and WMS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and manage multiple concurrent tasks within the logistics field.
