Position Summary
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day logistics operation, ensuring the efficient movement of materials, finished goods, and shipments while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, accuracy, and delivery performance. The successful candidate will supervise a team of warehouse and logistics personnel, coordinate daily workloads, and work closely with Production, Planning, Procurement, and Customer Service to support manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the daily activities of the logistics and warehouse team.
- Allocate labour and resources to meet operational priorities and delivery schedules.
- Ensure the safe receipt, storage, movement, and dispatch of materials and finished goods.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counting and stock control activities.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with transport providers.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety, environmental, and company procedures.
- Monitor key logistics KPIs including:
- On-time dispatch
- Inventory accuracy
- Picking accuracy
- Shipping performance
- Productivity
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supervising a warehouse or logistics team within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow.
- Experience coordinating inbound and outbound logistics.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation within a warehouse environment.
- Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (SAP, Oracle, JDE or similar).
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
- Forklift licence or previous experience operating material handling equipment.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience within an electrical manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
