Logistics Team Leader

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Logistics Team Leader to supervise a key operational team in Southampton . You will be responsible for guiding, supporting, and managing a group of logistics operatives, ensuring that daily operational targets are met efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a thorough understanding of warehouse and logistics processes. You will contribute to a positive team culture and drive operational excellence within your designated area.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse and dispatch staff to achieve performance targets.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of your team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
• Implement and monitor adherence to health, safety, and security procedures within the team.
• Allocate tasks and manage workload distribution to ensure optimal productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings, provide feedback, and address any performance issues.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of warehouse processes and team workflows.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role within a logistics or warehouse environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations , including receiving, dispatch, and inventory management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations.
• Ability to problem-solve effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
