At SPACE, the details matter. From the moment residents and visitors arrive, we want our buildings and grounds to feel clean, cared for and well maintained.

We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Assistant to help look after the grounds and external areas at SPACE St Andrews.

The role

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their surroundings and isn't afraid to get stuck in.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Rotating bins and supporting waste collections
• Keeping bin stores clean, organised and hygienic
• Litter picking across the grounds and external areas
• Watering and looking after indoor and outdoor plants
• Supporting grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
• Keeping paths, entrances and external areas tidy
• Gritting paths and entrances during cold weather
• Reporting any maintenance, damage or safety issues you spot
• Supporting the wider maintenance and operations team when required

What we're looking for

You'll be reliable, practical and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons. You'll be able to work independently, manage your daily tasks and take pride in maintaining high standards.

Previous grounds, maintenance, cleaning or facilities experience would be useful, but a positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in are just as important.

Working hours

This is a part-time role working 20 hours per week, from 8:00am to 12:00pm, five days per week.
