Maintenance Engineer - Industrial Equipment

Our client is actively recruiting for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Engineer to support their operations in Newcastle upon Tyne . You will be responsible for a broad range of maintenance tasks, from preventative servicing to complex repairs, playing a key role in minimising downtime and maximising operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.
• Respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns and malfunctions efficiently and effectively.
• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and specifications to guide repair and installation work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of all activities performed.
• Identify potential equipment failures and implement proactive solutions to prevent them.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in fault diagnosis and repair of industrial machinery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime or participate in an on-call rota if required.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3) are preferred.
