Maintenance Engineer - Production - Crawley

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000

Location: Crawley (Manor Royal)

Hours: 42 hours minimum per week, scheduled by shift weekly. Includes a rotational weekend schedule with two other engineers during the peak summer period (May to August).

Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Engineer to provide planned engineering, breakdown repair, and maintenance support for our production, packaging, and control equipment. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and hygienic working environment while maintaining site security and upholding strict BRC food safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

Execute scheduled tasks within the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule and utilize in-house reporting systems.

React quickly to emergency breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and perform efficient repairs.

Prioritize health, safety, and hygiene best practices, ensuring full compliance with standards and reporting any hazards.

Maintain and repair various equipment, including ice packaging machinery (pumps, motors, augers, hydraulics, metal detectors), air compressors, basic plumbing, and electrical systems.

Handle administrative duties such as maintenance checklists, critical control point (CCP) sheets, purchase orders, and handovers.

Requirements & Qualifications Good understanding of English for safety and communication purposes.

Preferred: 18th Edition electrical safety qualification or part qualification.

Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical fitness and capability for a fast-paced environment, manual handling, and frequent stair use.
