Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Belfast , responsible for the upkeep and repair of critical machinery and facility systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal operational downtime and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical background, be adept at both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, and possess excellent diagnostic skills. You will contribute significantly to the efficiency and reliability of our client's operations in Northern Ireland .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for all plant and machinery.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform effective repairs to restore functionality.
• Diagnose faults using appropriate testing equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Install new equipment and assist with modifications or upgrades to existing systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports, identifying recurring issues and proposing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the maintenance department.

Requirements

• Apprenticeship or formal qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team in Belfast .
