Maintenance Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain and improve their manufacturing equipment and facilities in Derby . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all machinery, minimizing downtime, and upholding safety standards. You will be responsible for both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks, working across a range of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of industrial machinery and a proactive approach to problem-solving and equipment upkeep.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in a timely manner to minimize production disruption.
• Install, commission, and test new equipment, ensuring it meets operational and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, servicing, and parts used.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems found in production machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, HND) or equivalent experience.
