Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)

Permanent | Rotating 2 Shift Pattern (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established steel processing business looking to add two Maintenance Engineers to its engineering team - one Mechanical and one Electrical.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable manufacturing business where you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently. You'll be part of a supportive team, working on a wide range of plant and machinery with plenty of variety in your day.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across plant and machinery
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs safely and efficiently
• Complete maintenance records and shift reports
• Support continuous improvement across the engineering function

Mechanical Engineers

will be involved in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, fabrication, bench fitting and general mechanical maintenance.

Electrical Engineers

will carry out electrical fault finding, maintenance and repairs on motors, sensors, switches and control systems while supporting the wider engineering team.

About you

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Time-served apprenticeship would be advantageous
• Previous maintenance engineering experience within manufacturing or heavy industry
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• A proactive approach and the ability to work well within a team
