Location: Haverhill, Suffolk
Shift: Days 4 on 4 off (05:30–17:30)

Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is investing in engineering capability at their Haverhill site and is now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join their established team. offering the work-life balance of a 4 on 4 off days pattern, this Maintenance Engineer opportunity offers stability, technical variety and long-term progression.
This isn’t just another maintenance role. As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key part in keeping production running at peak performance, ensuring plant reliability, food safety compliance and continuous improvement across site operations.
What You’ll Be Doing: Maintenance Engineer
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across electrical and mechanical systems
- Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Fault-finding across production machinery, control systems and ancillary equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ensuring all engineering work is completed safely and in line with site standards
- Contributing to a proactive, team-focused engineering culture
What We’re Looking For: Maintenance Engineer
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong multi-skilled background with both electrical and mechanical competence
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment
- Good understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and TPM principles
- Breathing Apparatus and Fire Fighting certification (desirable)
