Job Description
I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a long-established UK manufacturer specialising in industrial applications.
I am looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to provide preventative and breakdown maintenance across a broad range of production machinery, equipment and factory services.
This is a hands-on Maintenance Engineer position requiring a strong combination of electrical, mechanical and electronic maintenance skills. You’ll be responsible for keeping production equipment operational, responding effectively to breakdowns and helping improve machinery reliability.
As the Maintenance Engineer , your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance across production machinery, electrical equipment and factory services.
- Electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding across production equipment.
- Fault finding and maintenance on CNC and PLC-controlled machinery.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance schedules and supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Supporting electrical infrastructure installation, inspection and fault finding.
- Working with electro-mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial controls.
- Identifying the root causes of breakdowns and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Supporting general building maintenance requirements.
- Working in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Driving continuous improvement to increase equipment and machinery reliability.
For this Maintenance Engineer opportunity, I am looking for someone with:
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrable experience with preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment installation.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
- A good understanding of PLC-controlled equipment.
- Electro-mechanical knowledge covering hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement effective solutions.
- The ability to work autonomously and, where required, lead others.
- HNC/HND qualification, ideally degree level or equivalent.
- CNC machine maintenance experience would be preferable.
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Test, BS th Edition or equivalent electrical qualifications would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and equipment reliability.
This Maintenance Engineer role would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, diagnosing faults and taking ownership of machinery reliability within a busy manufacturing environment.
