Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a successful global logistics and automation company as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, working within a highly automated distribution centre in Chesterfield.
We are looking for an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team, supporting the site’s automated logistics systems and ensuring maximum equipment availability. If you have strong electrical and mechanical skills, enjoy fault-finding and thrive in a fast-paced, automated environment, this could be an excellent opportunity.

Opportunity to work with highly automated materials handling and logistics technology
Key Responsibilities
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping the automated distribution operation running efficiently and safely. Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out hands-on planned and reactive maintenance across automated plant and equipment
Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
Supporting the reliability and availability of automated logistics systems
Using the site CMMS to accurately record maintenance activities and update engineering records
Working safely and following established engineering, repair and safety procedures
Supporting continuous improvement, reliability and cost-saving initiatives
Working effectively as part of a wider engineering and operations team
Requirements
Ideally time-served/apprentice trained with a relevant Level 3 engineering qualification
Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance skills
Previous experience within a manufacturing, logistics, distribution or automated environment
Working knowledge of PLC control systems, ideally Siemens S7
Experience with automated materials handling systems would be advantageous but is not essential
Comfortable working at height when required, with full training and appropriate safety equipment provided
A proactive approach to fault-finding, problem-solving and preventative maintenance
