About the Role
Our client, a major player in the food and beverage manufacturing sector, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their operations team in Plymouth . This critical role involves ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for carrying out both preventative and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain high levels of operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and plant equipment according to schedule.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs.
- Install, commission, and test new machinery and equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and address potential equipment issues before they cause significant disruption.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance operations.
Requirements
- Qualified Engineer with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment .
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, ideally within the food and beverage sector.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
