Maintenance Manager – Portsmouth City Centre

Salary: Circa £34,000 + 6-monthly performance bonuses and excellent benefits

Location: Portsmouth / Southsea (covering 6 student accommodation sites)

The RoleLead and inspire a skilled team of 8 technicians delivering exceptional maintenance across 6 student accommodation sites in Portsmouth city centre. You will oversee student living areas, communal kitchens, laundries, and entertainment spaces.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance: Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, routine checks, and urgent fault-finding/emergency call-outs.

Technical Scope: Oversee electrical, mechanical, heating, plumbing, fire, security, and structural building elements.

Contractor & Supply Chain Management: Source specialist contractors, negotiate best rates, and ensure reliable supplier performance.

Team Leadership: Lead, develop, and manage your team of skilled trades.

What We Are Looking For Proven experience in managing skilled trades and building maintenance operations.

Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation, statutory compliance, and building systems.

Ability to source contractors and manage supplier costs effectively.

Note: Successful candidates will undergo a DBS check prior to employment.

Working Hours 5-day working week, including participation in a management duty roster (covering 1 weekend in 7, plus 1 late or early shift per week)
