Maintenance Manager
Location: Duckinfield, England
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £50000 - £60000 per annum + Dependant on experience
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for all plant, machinery, and site services.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults in a timely manner.
- Minimise plant and production downtime through rapid fault diagnosis and effective repair strategies.
- Project manage new installations and the modification or upgrade of existing equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation.
- Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and availability.
- Lead, supervise, and develop a maintenance team of six personnel and manage external contractors.
- Allocate workloads, set priorities, and ensure maintenance activities align with production requirements.
- Support training and ongoing skills development within the maintenance team.
- Take responsibility for maintenance budgets, contractor costs, and spare parts control.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Hands‑on experience working with guillotines, drills, and band saws in a workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work.
- Fault diagnosis in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gearbox, motor, pump, fan, compressor systems, conveyors and extraction systems.
- Experience with preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning.
- Strong mechanical and basic electrical fault‑finding capability.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
