Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Location: Southampton Salary: £34,000 - £37,500 DOE + Overtime Hours: Monday to Friday

The Role

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial rental vehicles
• Inspecting vehicle systems and components to ensure they are safe and operating correctly
• Identifying worn or defective components and carrying out repairs or replacement
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and accurately
• Test driving vehicles where appropriate and where the correct driving licence is held
• Accurately recording all work completed on the relevant computer systems
• Completing paperwork and job handovers to the Workshop Manager / Lead Technician
• Ensuring vehicles are left in a safe and roadworthy condition
• Working safely and maintaining high workshop standards

What We're Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience working with HGVs, LCVs or commercial vehicles
• Full UK, Irish or EU Class C or CE manual driving licence
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• A proactive and detail-focused approach
• Someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work
• A genuine interest in vehicle maintenance and developing their technical skills
