Maintenance Supervisor - Industrial Equipment

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to manage the upkeep and repair of industrial equipment at their facility in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This hands-on role requires a leader who can oversee a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring all equipment is operational, safe, and efficient. You will be responsible for implementing maintenance schedules, diagnosing complex issues, and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices. This is a critical on-site role requiring full commitment to the operational needs of the facility in the North East.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team.
• Develop and implement preventative and reactive maintenance programs for all industrial machinery.
• Conduct detailed inspections and diagnose faults in complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the maintenance department.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for maintenance supplies.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, fostering a culture of skill development and safety consciousness.

Requirements

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance and a strong understanding of machinery operations.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a maintenance setting.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations pertinent to industrial environments.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding production schedules in Sunderland .
