Maintenance Technician - Industrial Machinery

About the Role

Our client requires a skilled Maintenance Technician for their busy manufacturing plant in Sunderland . This is a critical on-site role focused on ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of all industrial machinery. You will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment failures, and ensuring a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Your expertise will directly impact production uptime and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system faults.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with industrial machinery , including PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance practices.
