Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing)

About the Role

Our client seeks a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join their manufacturing plant in Southampton . You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all production machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. This role is critical to minimising downtime and ensuring the continuous smooth operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on production lines.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs and part usage.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in maintenance activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of relevant machinery and equipment specific to the industry.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience.
