Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of their manufacturing facilities in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for minimizing downtime and maintaining the safety and efficiency of all production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and facility equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment in a timely manner.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Install and commission new equipment as required.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, and general repair work is a plus.
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety and a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures.
